Greetings. My name is Willie “Mantel” Jackson, a singer/songwriter from Macon, GA. My passion is music. My mom gave me the opportunity to showcase my talent at a very young age. It all started in the church; I was a proud member of a spectacular family oriented choir called the Jackson Family Gospel Singers. When I was two years old, I did my first studio recording. The Jackson family recorded two gospel songs–“Memories” and “Sinnerman”. During the 1980s, we performed in hundreds of churches in the middle Georgia area. Also, I have performed in various other events from talent shows to important banquets. Later, I joined an R&B group called Deep In Harmony. In 1992, this group signed a recording deal with the artist known as M. C. Hammer. This was a big opportunity for us. However, due to Hammer’s financial complications/bankruptcy, he was unable to fulfill our dreams of becoming international entertainers and songwriters. With great disappointment, I took a break from the entertainment world. Now, after many years off the scene, I’ve decided to pursue the music industry full speed ahead. Mantel is an R&B/Soul artist. With the Lord’s grace, I am blessed with the gift to sing, write and arrange various styles of music. Yet, my style has a unique twist of jazz, soul and rhythm & blues.
